Ohtani suffered a left shoulder subluxation in the seventh inning of the Dodgers’ 4-2 victory in Game 2 on Saturday night when he slid into second on an unsuccessful steal attempt. The injury looked bad, but Ohtani is officially in the lineup for Game 3.

This is of particular import for the Dodgers because Shohei Ohtani, who did at least have a hit on Tuesday night, really does not look like himself this series. That shoulder is obviously bothering him; this has to be the most he has ever grimaced over a two-game span. The Dodgers may need Freeman to hit like Ohtani has all year. After back-to-back upset losses to division rivals in the postseason in 2022 and 2023, the Dodgers looked to reshape their roster.
